Sara Bucksten: LMFT
Therapist for Couples, Parents, and Individuals in Transition
I’m Sara, a therapist dedicated to helping individuals and couples. I create a secure, authentic therapy space and guide clients toward meaningful lives. Trained in Gottman therapy, I use a direct, practical, and empathetic approach to enhance confidence and relationship skills. I value a holistic approach and collaborate with other health providers. I can also incorporate Christian perspectives but work with people from diverse spiritual backgrounds.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from Texas A&M University, a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Indiana Wesleyan University, and additional coursework from Universidad de la Mancha in Spain and Focus on the Family Institute. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and spending time with family and friends.
You may find yourself:
Feeling distant from your partner, unsure how to reconnect
Overwhelmed by parenting and second-guessing yourself daily
Carrying anxiety or grief that’s affecting your sleep, energy, or relationships
Longing to feel like yourself again but unsure where to start
Caught in repeating patterns or emotional cycles that leave you stuck
Trying to make sense of your faith while managing real emotional pain
What You Can Expect From Me:
In our work together, you can expect a space that’s steady, respectful, and real. I bring a calm, collaborative presence—and I won’t just nod and smile. I’ll be honest with you, ask meaningful questions, and help you explore what’s really driving the patterns or pain you’re facing.
I use practical tools rooted in research-backed approaches like Gottman and Family Systems therapy, and I always tailor my approach to your specific goals. Whether we’re unpacking relationship tension, parenting stress, or personal anxiety, I’ll help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
If your faith is important to you, I’m happy to integrate that into our work. And if not, that’s okay too—this is your space to be fully seen and supported.
